Random Loot

Got some random stuff this week, too. Oddly enough, I picked up a Snoopy "perpetual calendar" (take a look at the pic to see what I mean) at a Hallmark store when I went to buy my cousin a birthday card. I've always loved Snoopy, and it was awesome to read that Charles Schultz became a Secular Humanist later in life. =) I also got 2 shirts from Splitreason.com this week. One is called "The Plumber's Wardrobe", and it features Mario and every powerup/outfit he ever had available to him in every game (or nearly). And the other features the Ghostbusters, busting Pacman's ghosts, heh.

Persona 3 and 4 Game Characters Collection Mini

These are exceptionally cool, despite the fact that Megahouse keeps trying to rebrand their "Chara Fortune" series over and over and over again. This set's box was amazing, too. I almost liked the box more than the figures themselves! It's not often that Persona/MegaTen merch comes down the pike (aside from cosplay & apparel stuff), so I pounced on this when I saw it. ^__^

Kotobukiya One Coin Grande Sengoku BASARA Volume 3

Here we have the third series of Sengoku BASARA One Coin Grande figures by Kotobukiya. Ironically named One Coin "Grande", all of these figures are tiny, which is why I like them (that and their crazy SD forms and insane eyes). I originally wasn't going to buy these, but I'm such a completionist... I love how the secret figure is wielding dual game DVDs instead of kunai. ^^

Nendoroid Motherlode!

Got the Sebastian Michaelis & Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji, Nendos, as well as the 2nd & 3rd sets of the Bakemonogatari Puchi Nendos as well as the full set/box of the Fate/Stay Night Puchi Nendos. The Kuroshitsuji Nendos "work in tandem" with one another; the Ciel Nendo comes with a few elements that you can pose Sebastian with.

The Bakemonogatari Puchis are kinda cool, but the most nondescript of any of the figures I've bought in a while. That's not to say that they're plain, they're just less "decorated" than most anime chara & their figures out there. The F/SN Puchi set is great, they weren't afraid to throw Saber in there in as many forms as needed (and that is not sarcasm), and the secret figure of her riding the lion is really cute.

Griffon Enterprises Touhou Project Sakuya Izayoi & Remilia Scarlet 1/7 Special Edition

These two were expensive, but (overall) worth it. I say "overall" in parentheses because, I buy cheaper figures and they're well-painted, have nice transfers as far as eyes/facial features/clothing patterns, etc, and these are very well sculpted & conceived. However, Sakuya came with white showing through on a black part of her dress and Remilia had a small scratch on the paint on the features of her dress as well. Now, when I buy an $80 figure, I shouldn't have to do a "paint n scuff" with a black Sharpie to fix a blemish right out of the box. Griffon Enterprises makes a good product, but insofar as price versus quality, I think the quality should match the concept phase's idea if you're planning on charging $70~$80 for one figure.

They're both 1/7 scale & "Special Editions" - in Sakuya's case a color swap of a previous figure & I'm fairly certain that Remilia doesn't have "another version", just this one, but the Gungnir weapon and her pose are really cool.
