Kidrobot x Street Fighter: World Warriors, Fight!

Kidrobot produced a line of Street Fighter 2 3 inch figures last year around June, and a month or so ago this year they had mercy on those of us who are (semi) completionists. The chase figures were of course the 4 boss characters from SF2, and I did buy an original Sagat for about $30 last year when these came out. However, Balrog seemed to be elusive, because I didn't see many auctions for him, but his price hovered around $30, too. Vega usually went for like $45, and Bison was the rarest, being 1/80, and taking $300 or so early on. So naturally, not being insane, I didn't even think of getting Bison. The mercy I speak of is that not only did Kidrobot un-blindbox the 4 chases, but they sold em with another "challenger" (ie - surplus figures from the first batch) behind a cleverly rebranded blind box. The only catch is that all 4 bosses are now in their 2P duds. So if you don't mind that, they can be had for roughly $18 per 2-pack. I got mine on Amazon because, well, I have an Amazon store card, lol.

This makes my World Warrior collection almost complete! At least until series 2 comes out. Still need Chun Li, holding out till I find one super cheap on eBay. I really don't plan on getting the 1P versions of Bison, Vega and Balrog, because the money I'd spend on them are resources that could be spent elsewhere. I might, however, consider grabbing a green Guile to make a complete set of 1P colors of all 8 non-boss types. (Which I did for Blanka, because the blue one didn't look quite right with the rest)

Megahouse Rurouni Kenshin Himura Kenshin 1/8 るろうに剣心 -明治剣客浪漫譚- 緋村剣心

This figure prompted me to ask myself why I don't have more 1/8 male figures, lol. And of course, the answer is that they simply don't make that many of em. At any rate, this figure of Kenshin is more than welcome in my collection. Any figure of Kenshin is welcome in my collection, for that matter, since any non trading figure style figures from Rurouni Kenshin are so few and far between. It is well done - your standard 1/8 Megahouse fare, really, in terms of level of detail and overall sculpting. He comes with 2 heads, one normal, one battousai mode head. I really hope this means that yes, there will be a remake of the Kenshin TV series, as had been alluded to earlier this year.

Touhou Project 1/8 Marisa Kirisame - Nemu Matsukura Ver. - 東方1/8魔理沙霧雨

Oddly enough, a Kotobukiya release. I had no idea who Nemu Matsukura was, and upon searching for her I found little info. Apparently she's a Touhou-specific doujin artist. Anyway, got Marisa this month and her version of Reimu is coming next month. Very cute renditions of these two, the quality of the figure itself is nice, too. What you'd expect from a Koto release. Her hat/head have magnets that keep it stuck to her.

Griffon Enterprises Touhou Project 1/7 The Devil's Little Sister Flandre Scarlet -Laevateinn ver.- 悪魔の妹フランドール・スカーレット - 紅剣 ver. -

...and now I have Griffon Enterprises' 1/7 version of both sisters with their special moves/weapons, bwahahahaha! While I do like Remilia a little more, this is definitely a cool figure. Her translucent parts are well done (In my experience, sometimes when a figure has translucent pieces they can turn out cheesy looking, so not the case here) painting and sculpting are on par with the other GE Touhou line.

One Coin Grande Figure Collection Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Duel Start!! ワンコイングランデフィギュアコレクション 遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスターズ 決闘開始！！

I've never explicitly been a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh, but I've always thought that the characters had kind of a neat design. Throw those together with the fact that I love the design of the One Coin series, and this was an instant pick up for me.

Nendoroid Risty Queen's Blade ねんどろいど リスティクイーンズブレイド

Nendo 1 of 2 this month. Risty's the barbarian-rough-and-tumble type from Queen's Blade, if you couldn't tell from these pics. I'm always amazed at the sheer number of different types of stands and such included with Nendoroids. This is the first time I've seen this one, it wraps around her foot, and you'd think that it would be kinda ineffective, but it holds her in place really well. I now have a shelf dedicated to just Queen's Blade figures (all Nendos, save for a few trading figures that look just like Nendos) and it's close to my Death Note stuff. It's weird to see how much things have changed since the first batches of Nendoroids came out. L and Light look really strange and almost "primitive" by comparison.

Griffon Enterprises Touhou Project 1/8 Suika Ibuki 1/8 小さな百鬼夜行 伊吹 萃香

I'm amazed that she's sold out already, considering her price tag and the exchange rate of most countries' currencies with the yen. It's not that I'm not impressed with her, she is magnificently sculpted and well-detailed as all Griffon Enterprises releases are, but for her size, she is expensive! By comparison, I got the "special edition" Flandre Scarlet complete with her Gungnir special move in full effect for about 1000 more yen. (It might be useful to note here that Flandre is 1/7 scale)

I'm impressed with my thus-far-received items for this month, sometimes I find little flaws in stuff I get or they don't match up completely to the prototype photos posted (yeah yeah, I know, how can I expect them to completely meet the quality of the prototype), but it seems like the stuff I just got either matches up with or surpasses the expected level of quality.
